Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) Consultation

Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, removes excess fat and skin, and in most cases restores weakened or separated muscles creating an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer. Inguinal Hernia (groin) consultation

30m. There are many different types of hernias. The main types are inguinal hernia (groin), umbilical hernia (belly button) and incisional hernia hernias. A patient will first notice a bulge that can increase in size if it is left untreated. The hernia can sometimes cause pain and possibly involve intestines that can twist inside the hernia sac. If left untreated for a long period of time the intestine can become damaged and require cutting out the damaged bowel. The treatment for this is to repair the defect early before further problems arise. This repair usually involves a no mesh tension free repair, called the Desarda Technique. This can be done under IV sedation and local anesthesia. For large ventral/incisional hernias mesh may be required for repair. However, for primary inguinal hernias mesh is rarely used and the floor can be repaired with the patients external oblique muscle and sutured into place with absorbable sutures.

Labial Lift/Puff Consultation

30m. Labial Lift/Puff - Enhancing the labia majora Labial "puff" or lift is an in office elective procedure done to restore volume to the labia majora (outer lips). Women of all ages, but especially as we age, will lose fat and tightness of the outer labia. This produces a sagging, lax or sunken-in appearance of the labia. An injectable filler is used to restore volume to the majora, creating a more "plump", youthful appearance. For some, exercise and sex are even more comfortable as well after restoring this lost "cushion" of support to the area. No sedation is necessary, unless done in conjunction with liposuction, and recovery of the beautifully restored area is typically within several days. A "touch up" treatment may be recommended or desired by the patient due to some resorption of the filler.
